Oslo Type Crystallizer is a refining of the evaporative forced circulation crystallizer, now equipped with a large crystal settling zone to increase the retention time (usually low in the FC) and to roughly separate heavy slurry zones from clear liquid. Evaporative crystallizers tend to yield larger average crystal size and narrow the crystal size distribution curve. The particle size produced by oslo type crystallizer is 1.5 – 5.0 mm. So the oslo type crystallizer is usually used in pharmaceutical industry and chemical industry.
DTB crystallizer is a kind of slurry circulating crystallizer. DTB crystallizers are for superior control over crystal size and characteristics. The DTB crystallizer is built in both the adiabatic cooling and evaporative types and consists of a body in which growing crystals are circulated from the lower portion to the boiling surface by means of a large, slow-moving propeller circulator. This type of crystallizer is used primarily in the production of a variety of large-size crystalline materials such as ammonium sulfate, potassium chloride and ammonium phosphate for the fertilizer industry.
