Global Fiber laser market was valued at 1472 Million US$ in 2018 and is projected to reach 2365 Million US$ by 2024
Fiber laser is a special type of solid-state laser. Its basic setup consists of an undoped cladding and a doped core of higher refraction (active medium). Guided within the fiber core, the laser light passes through the fiber. Fiber lasers are monolithic by design, producing single mode, high quality beams which are ideal for narrow kerf, precision cutting (typically less than 0.050" material thickness), narrow welds, narrow but deep penetration welds and remote welding of small precision parts.
Fiber-based lasers are a relatively new generation of lasers that combine the advantages of semiconductor diodes, such as long life and high efficiency, with the high amplification and precise beam qualities of specialty optical fibers to deliver superior performance, reliability and usability. Fiber lasers are displacing traditional lasers in many current applications and enabling new applications for lasers.
